The wildfires have been a tremendous disaster for the Los Angeles area.
In addition to all the properties that were destroyed, at least 24 people have died.
Tesla head and X owner Elon Musk is helping out. He has provided Cybertrucks to deliver water and food, as well as providing power and Starlinks so people could have Wifi. The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team posted pictures of the trucks.
Musk said more Cybertrucks will be sent to affected areas in the greater Los Angeles and Malibu areas. As a result, anyone expecting a Cybertruck delivery this week should expect delays.
“Apologies to those expecting Cybertruck deliveries in California over the next few days. We need to use those trucks as mobile base stations to provide power to Starlink Internet terminals in areas of LA without connectivity. A new truck will be delivered end of week,” he wrote on X.
He also brought trucks to the Palisades Command Center and had a briefing with the fire officials there.
Now, you would think that California leaders like Gov. Gavin Newsom would be thanking him for the help.
Instead, Newsom posted an attack on Musk. This was what Newsom was focused on — claiming Musk was “exposed by firefighters for his own lies,” posting part of the video of Musk visiting the Palisades Command Center. He’s the state’s chief executive in the middle of such a disaster and this is what he’s posting? Imagine being as petty and small as this man, trying to deflect blame.

RELATED: California governor accuses Musk of ‘encouraging looting’ with misleading LA fires claim
Factually incorrect posts shared by Elon Musk on his social media site claim California governor Gavin Newsom decriminalised looting
THE INDEPENDENT | Published January 13, 2025
California governor Gavin Newsom has accused Elon Musk of “encouraging looting” after the billionaire shared posts on his social media platform X that claimed the politician had “decriminalised” it.
“Stop encouraging looting by lying and telling people it’s decriminalized. It’s not,” Mr Newsom wrote on X, replying to one of the billionaire’s retweets.
“It’s illegal — as it always has been. Bad actors will be arrested and prosecuted.”
Mr Musk had shared a tweet in which Mr Newsom was filmed in an interview warning people against looting, but the caption read: “LOOTING: Newsom and California Democrats literally decriminalized looting, barring police from arresting looters and prosecutors from prosecuting them. Now he’s opposed to looting.”
Mr Musk’s repost was captioned with two emojis, one of a clown face and the other of the Earth.
The online feud comes as at least 20 people in California have been arrested for raiding abandoned buildings ravaged by wildfires that have swept through the wider Los Angeles area.
More than 12,000 structures have been damaged or destroyed by the fires, while more than 150,000 people have been put under evacuation notices.
LA police were forced to put in a curfew from 6pm Friday evening to 6am on Saturday within areas impacted by the fires in the Palisades and Eaton to counter looting of properties.
