Canadian Liberal PM Mark Carney Under Fire for Resurfaced Ties to Ghislaine Maxwell and Prince Andrew

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is facing backlash after a 2013 photograph resurfaced showing him and his wife, Diana Fox Carney, alongside convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell at the UK’s Wilderness Festival. Critics have raised questions about Carney’s past associations, prompting his campaign to clarify that Maxwell was a high school acquaintance of Diana’s sister and that their meeting was a brief, chance encounter. Carney’s team has denied any personal or professional relationship with Maxwell.

During a recent campaign event, a heckler confronted Carney about alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein, leaving the Prime Minister momentarily speechless before security intervened. The controversy has been further fueled by social media posts claiming to show Carney in images with Epstein and World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab. However, fact-checkers have determined that some of these images appear to be AI-generated or digitally manipulated.

Beyond the photo controversy, Carney is also facing scrutiny over his financial ties. As the former head of Brookfield Asset Management’s “transition investing” division, he played a key role in directing green energy investments. Critics argue that his extensive financial portfolio could present conflicts of interest in his role as Prime Minister, though Carney has stated he is following all ethical guidelines and has placed his assets in a blind trust.

The controversy comes at a critical moment as Canada heads into elections on April 28. While Carney aims to solidify his leadership amid economic and trade challenges, the resurfaced photo and related allegations have become a distraction, raising questions about transparency and credibility in his campaign.

This comes as a picture has surfaced of Carney with Ghislaine Maxwell in a music festival back in 2013.

Needless to say, a picture with Maxwell does not a sex-trafficker make – but citizens have started digging on Carney’s history.

Carney’s allies have dismissed the controversy as a political smear campaign. One supporter told the Toronto Sun, ‘This is another example of how Pierre Poilievre and [his PR head] have always played politics, and it shows again how terrified they are to fight Mark Carney’.

The timing of the incident is crucial. Canada is set to hold elections on April 28, and Carney, who was sworn in as Prime Minister on March 14 after Justin Trudeau’s resignation, is seeking a strong mandate. The campaign has been tense, especially amid a trade war with the United States.”
