Vladimir Putin warned the US against deploying short and medium-range missiles, saying Russia would remove its self-imposed missile deployment limits if it did so
Vladimir Putin has ominously warned that Russia could lift its self-imposed missile restrictions, accusing the West of testing his country’s “red lines” amid heightened fears of a global conflict.
Addressing defence chiefs, he voiced concerns about the US’s development and potential deployment of short and medium-range missiles, stating that Russia would abandon its missile deployment limits if the US moved forward with its plans.
The Russian leader also boasted that his forces have captured 189 settlements in Ukraine this year and emphasized that Russia’s nuclear capabilities act as a deterrent.
The alarming statement follows Russia’s extensive aerial bombardment of Ukraine last Friday, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reporting the launch of 93 cruise and ballistic missiles and nearly 200 drones.
