Donald Trump Jr accuses Biden of trying to start WWIII before his father can take office after Washington allowed Kyiv to blast targets INSIDE Russia with US missiles: Zelensky says weapons ‘will speak for themselves’

Donald Trump Jr has accused President Joe Biden of trying to start WWIII before his father can take office after the US gave the green light for Ukraine to blast targets inside Russia with US-supplied long-range missiles.

The decision is a major US policy shift and comes as Biden is about to leave office while President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to limit American support for Ukraine and end the war as soon as possible.

Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr, posted on X after Biden’s decision was announced, saying that ‘the military industrial complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives’.

David Sacks, a tech millionaire who was a major donor for Trump’s presidential campaigner, added that Biden permitting Ukraine to use US-supplied missiles in Russia would ‘massively escalate’ the situation.

‘President Trump won a clear mandate to end the war in Ukraine. So what does Biden do in his final two months in office? Massively escalate it. Is his goal to hand Trump the worst situation possible?’ Sacks said.

Ukraine plans to conduct its first long-range attacks in the coming days, according to several sources. The first deep strikes are reportedly likely to be carried out using ATACMS rockets, which have a range of up to 190 miles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the reports about Biden’s policy change – which reportedly would authorise the use of Western missiles to strike targets in the Kursk region only – had not been openly confirmed by the White House but said the ‘missiles will speak for themselves’.

Zelensky had been pressing Biden for months to allow his country to strike military targets deeper inside Russia with US-supplied missiles, saying the ban had made it impossible for Kyiv to try to stop Russian attacks on its cities and electrical grids.

RELATED: Fury in Russia at ‘serious escalation’ of missile move

Putin previously said Moscow would view the move as “direct participation” of Nato countries in the Ukraine war
BBC NEWS | Published November 18, 2024

President Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to strike inside Russia with long-range missiles supplied by the US has sparked a furious response in Russia.

“Departing US president Joe Biden… has taken one of the most provocative, uncalculated decisions of his administration, which risks catastrophic consequences,” declared the website of the Russian government newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta on Monday morning.

Russian MP Leonid Slutsky, head of the pro-Kremlin Liberal-Democratic Party, predicted that the decision would “inevitably lead to a serious escalation, threatening serious consequences”.

Russian senator Vladimir Dzhabarov called it “an unprecedented step towards World War Three”.

Anger, yes. But no real surprise.

Komsomolskaya Pravda, the pro-Kremlin tabloid, called it “a predictable escalation”.

What really counts, though, is what Vladimir Putin calls it and how the Kremlin leader responds.

So far he’s stayed silent.

But on Monday President Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists that “if such a decision has been taken it means a whole new spiral of tension and a whole new situation with regard to US involvement in this conflict”.

Mr Peskov accused the Biden administration of “adding fuel to the fire and continuing to stoke tension around this conflict”.

RELATED: Biden’s green light for Ukraine to use ATACMS in Russia just raised the stakes in a war Trump will inherit

CNN | Published November 18, 2024
(CNN ) — The decision by US President Joe Biden to allow Ukraine to use long-range American missiles in Russia follows a familiar pattern.

The White House refuses for months to grant a weapons request from Ukraine, fearing it would be escalatory. Kyiv loudly decries the refusal, and just when the request seems to have been parked, the Biden administration approves it.

Ukraine’s request for HIMARS, Abrams tanks, F16s – all followed a similar pattern of refuse and prevaricate, and then grant, almost at the moment when it is too late.

Is it too late for the US-made Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACMS, to make a difference if it hits targets deep inside Russia?

The answer is complex and perhaps explains some of the reluctance of the Biden administration to grant permission.

Firstly, there is a limited supply of ATACMS that Ukraine can get its hands on. So even Kyiv being able to hit deep inside Russia is not going to yield an overnight change in the battlefield. The White House did not specify the variant of ATACMS it has given permission to be fired into Russia, but the missile’s longest range can be up to 300 kilometers (190 miles), per the manufacturer’s website.

Analysts have listed the volume of Russian targets that are in range of these missiles – with the Institute for the Study of War listing hundreds of targets – after the Biden administration apparently briefed that Russian airfields in ATACMS range had seen their attack aircraft evacuated deeper inside Russia.
