In a landmark operation, Europol, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies from 35 countries, has dismantled “Kidflix,” one of the world’s largest child pornography platforms operating on the dark web. Established in 2021, Kidflix amassed approximately 1.8 million users globally and hosted over 91,000 videos depicting child sexual abuse.
Operation Details
The operation, led by the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office in Germany, culminated in March 2025 with the seizure of the platform’s servers located in Germany and the Netherlands. This coordinated effort resulted in the arrest of 79 individuals, with nearly 1,400 additional suspects identified across various countries. Among those arrested, some are accused not only of distributing and accessing child sexual abuse material but also of directly perpetrating the abuse.
Scope and Impact
The investigation uncovered that between April 2022 and March 2025, Kidflix facilitated the upload and sharing of around 91,000 unique videos, averaging three and a half new videos every hour. Users accessed the platform using cryptocurrency payments, enabling both streaming and downloading of abusive content. The operation led to the seizure of thousands of electronic devices, significantly disrupting the distribution of child sexual abuse material online.
Global Response
Europol’s Executive Director emphasized that this operation stands as one of the most significant child sexual exploitation cases tackled by the agency, highlighting the extensive international collaboration involved.
Ongoing Efforts
This operation underscores the continuous efforts of international law enforcement agencies to combat online child sexual exploitation. Europol and its partners remain committed to identifying and dismantling such platforms, ensuring the protection of vulnerable children worldwide.
