In Lexington, Kentucky, one person was killed and four others—including two children—were wounded when gunfire erupted Saturday evening during an outdoor community event at Charles Young Park.
Hours earlier, five people were shot near the dormitories at Virginia State University, leaving one victim in critical condition. Police initially said multiple shooters could be involved, but authorities later arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the Virginia attack.
