SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Valkyries kept their championship hopes alive with a 67–62 victory over the Atlanta Dream in Game 4 of the 2026 WNBA Finals, evening the best-of-seven series at two wins apiece and setting up a pivotal Game 5 on Monday.

Gabby Williams led Golden State with 17 points as the Valkyries delivered a disciplined defensive performance to recover from consecutive losses and prevent Atlanta from taking a commanding 3–1 series lead.

The result means both teams remain two wins away from claiming the franchise’s first WNBA championship.

Williams Leads Golden State’s Response

Williams was central to Golden State’s victory, providing the scoring leadership the team needed in a game where offensive opportunities were limited.

Tiffany Hayes and Veronica Burton contributed 13 points each, while the Valkyries established control early and carried a 42–26 advantage into halftime.

Golden State’s defense also forced Atlanta into 18 turnovers, converting those mistakes into 16 points. The Valkyries committed only nine turnovers, a significant improvement after struggling with ball security in their previous losses.

The defensive effort helped Golden State withstand Atlanta’s late push and secure the five-point victory.

Angel Reese Struggles as Atlanta Misses Opportunity

Atlanta’s Angel Reese had a difficult night offensively, finishing with eight points and nine rebounds after shooting two-for-12 from the field.

Reese had been a major contributor in Atlanta’s victories in Games 2 and 3, averaging 25.5 points and 14 rebounds across those games. Golden State’s defensive adjustments limited her opportunities near the basket in Game 4.

Rhyne Howard led Atlanta with 19 points, but the Dream struggled to convert their chances, shooting 33.3% overall and four-for-23 from three-point range.

Atlanta reduced the deficit in the fourth quarter, but Golden State held on after several missed three-point attempts in the closing moments.

Game 5 Sets Up a Crucial Championship Battle

The series returns to San Francisco for Game 5 on Monday, October 26, with the Valkyries hosting the Dream at Chase Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern Time, or 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, in the Philippines.

The winner will move within one victory of the championship. With the series tied, both teams will be looking to establish control before the Finals potentially extend to Game 6 in Atlanta.

Golden State will look to build on its defensive performance from Game 4, while Atlanta will need a stronger offensive showing and fewer turnovers to regain the series advantage.
