In a unified response to recent Israeli airstrikes in Syria, several Arab nations have condemned the actions as violations of international law and assaults on Syrian sovereignty. Egypt, Jordan, and Qatar have each issued statements denouncing the attacks and calling for international intervention to prevent further escalation.

Egypt’s Position

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry labeled the Israeli strikes as “a flagrant violation of international law and a blatant infringement on Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.” The ministry criticized Israel for exploiting Syria’s internal situation and urged influential international actors to “shoulder their responsibilities regarding Israel’s repeated transgressions.” Egypt also called for Israel to end its occupation of Syrian territories and to respect the 1974 disengagement agreement.

Jordan’s Response

Similarly, Jordan’s Foreign Ministry described the Israeli attacks as “a blatant breach of international law, a stark violation of Syria’s sovereignty and unity, and a dangerous escalation that will only fuel further conflict and tension in the region.” The ministry reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with Syria and called on the international community to compel Israel to cease its provocative and illegitimate attacks.

Qatar’s Stance

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the Israeli airstrikes, stating they are “a clear violation of Syria’s sovereignty and international law.” The ministry urged the international community to take immediate action to ensure Israel complies with international laws and halts its repeated attacks.

Regional Implications

The coordinated condemnation from these Arab states underscores the growing concern over Israel’s military actions in Syria and their potential to destabilize the region further. The calls for international intervention highlight the urgency felt by these nations to address and curtail what they perceive as aggressive and unlawful behavior by Israel.

Conclusion

As tensions escalate, the unified stance of Arab countries serves as a significant diplomatic move, signaling a collective demand for adherence to international law and respect for national sovereignty. The effectiveness of these appeals will depend on the international community’s response and the subsequent actions taken to address the situation.
