Sowell is, of course right (video below). However he seem to not taking into consideration when it comes to tariffs two things, 1. The world is totally different than in the 1920’s and 30’s. The US is much more important today when it comes to trade. And, 2. President Donald J. Trump would not set any tariffs indefinitely, or forever. I always understood it as a short term tool to get his agenda of putting “America First” (but not alone) into place.
